We’ve come a long way! Our Care Centre began in 1963, as a privately-owned and operated facility. In 1969, the new North Shore Private Hospital opened its doors at 1070 Lynn Valley Road. For nearly 60 years, we’ve been the go-to senior care home in North Vancouver.

In 2007, new Lynn Valley Manor buildings were adjoined via walkway to the hospital’s existing residential care building, the Lynn Valley Lodge. Our Lynn Valley Care Centre – with more than 200 beds, rooms and suites – was complete.

Today, LVCC has been accredited for more than 25 years by Accreditation Canada. And we bring the same care and attention to detail to our environment: We’re very proud that our new building incorporates the latest Green Building technology by utilizing geothermal and solar energy, as well as a rainwater retention system, to create a truly eco-friendly facility.

We’re proud to be the preferred Long-Term Care facility on Vancouver’s North Shore and to continue serving our community with same mission, vision, and values we started with in 1963. Today, our 139 government-subsidized beds and 65 private pay rooms and suites are set up for intermediate care, extended/complex care, palliative care, and end-of-life care.

At LVCC, our staff and 24-hour nursing supports work within a system of Restorative Care to maximize residents’ physical and mental independence. We offer a variety of recreational and therapeutic activities that meet the diverse needs of our residents. From specialized fitness programming to art and music therapy, games nights, and movie clubs, our activities engage the mind and help maintain social interactions.

Since the very beginning, we’ve worked with our community to help make our residents feel at home. Our active volunteer program sees local high school students and adults write or visit on a regular basis to provide support, compassion, and entertainment. At Lynn Valley Care Centre, we work hard to ensure your loved ones feel loved right from the start.
