At Lynn Valley Care Centre, we’re proud of our reputation for serving home-style meals that are as delicious as they are nutritious.

DIETICIAN-LED NUTRITION 

What we eat matters – especially as we age. But sometimes it’s hard to know what foods, nutrients and even textures our loved one truly needs. For seniors with muscle and memory degeneration, the right (or wrong) food choice can make all the difference in health, vitality, and safety. 

At LVCC we take a custom and science-based approach to diet and nutrition. With the guidance of our Registered Dietitian, we strive to meet the nutritional and functional needs of our residents by providing modified textures and adaptive equipment. Our strategic and custom approach helps to ensure that our residents can eat safely and independently for as long as possible.

Meals & Snacks

We serve three well-balanced meals per day, as well as snacks and a variety of beverages. Our menu varies by season, and by four week rotation, to make sure our residents are getting fresh ingredients and appetizing dishes. 

Tea and Dessert

Our creative cooks bake an assortment of delectable baked goods such as butter tarts and a variety of cakes to serve at tea time. Many of our residents have a sweet tooth – and our talented baker is happy to oblige! Fresh fruits are also enjoyed by our residents at dessert and snack times. 

Garden-Grown Fruits & Veggies 

Our LVCC Gardening Club is active throughout the year, and we love nothing more than to see the results on our plates! When available, we use home-grown vegetables and herbs – such as kale, tomatoes, green peppers, strawberries, and mint – from our rooftop garden and patio planters.

CELEBRATIONS

We always celebrate special events! Our talented chefs offer specialty menu items for birthday celebrants. The Food Service and Activity departments collaborate to provide summer BBQs, all seasonal holiday celebrations, monthly birthday parties, and the food appreciation club. Many of these events are open to families and guests!

We have a four-week/seasonal menu which includes alternative meal choices. Although it is difficult to please every palate, we strive to meet individual food preferences as much as possible. We’re delighted that the majority of our residents and their families enjoy the meals provided.
