ADMINISTRATION

The Telus Optic TV system is now fully online within the facility. We now have access to HD channels with 400K quality, using Fibre Optics. The new system also allows our residents to add extra channels to what the current live system has in place. Our reception staff can help residents and family with more information about our Telus Cable system.

Telus will be providing us with remote controls that are custom made for Senior Living Facilities. As soon as these are received, we will distribute them.

Food Services are currently conducting a Quality Improvement Assessment of our food. They will be focusing on variety within the menu and in offering substitute meals to our residents.

The Groundskeeping contract for Lynn Valley Care Centre has been awarded to MY Gardens. They are working on improving the landscape of the facility. Within their plans is the enhancement of the plants and seating areas in the back courtyard. As we look forward to the warmer weather and sunny days, we hope our residents and families will enjoy the improved gardens.

FOOD SERVICE

Spring is in full bloom and it’s wonderful to see all the cherry blossoms everywhere! May’s special meal will celebrate Mother’s Day on Sunday, May 12th. The menu has not been finalized yet, so stay tuned.

As the weather gets warmer, we will start to emphasize the importance of drinking more fluids to reduce the risk of dehydration. As always, water is the best choice. Soon we will be offering more water on snack wagons & nursing stations. Lemons will be added to the water to make it more appealing and refreshing.

DIETITIAN

We are pleased to announce that we have a new dietitian working at Lynn Valley Care Centre. Her name is Mary Cross and has over 20 years of experience of working in long term care. Mary is really looking forward to joining our team and to be working close to her home, in a community she loves. She is excited to get to know all of the residents and staff.

Mary will be working 4 days a week: Mondays, Wednesdays, Thursdays and Fridays. If you have any clinical questions or concerns, please feel free to contact her at dietitian@nsph.ca, or call her on 604 982-3790. For any food service related preferences or concerns please contact Alicia at acoelho@carecorp.ca or call 604 982-3714.
