NURSING DEPARTMENT

ACCREDITATION

Lynn Valley Care Centre will undergo its fourth accreditation cycle with Accreditation Canada October 15-18 this year. In preparation for this survey, we will be distributing the resident satisfaction survey to elicit feedback from you. The feedback is important to help us improve our services and to ensure that we are meeting your expectations and your needs.

Participation is completely voluntary. If you agree to take part in this survey, the complete form should be placed in the provided envelope and left at the Nursing station. A member of the Quality Improvement team will pick it up. Please note that you do not need to put your name on the survey.

Committee members wanted

At Lynn Valley Care Centre we view residents and their families as important members of the care team. We encourage residents and their families to actively participate in their care, as this leads to better health outcomes, increased resident and family satisfaction and improved staff morale.
We encourage residents and families to be involved in all aspects of care, including becoming partners with the care team in care planning, participating in a committee (please see below), involvement in resident and family councils and providing feedback.

Becoming Involved:

Resident & Family Council
Lynn Valley Care Centre has an active resident and family council. The Resident and Family Council provides a forum for advocacy, peer support and education. For information about how to become involved in this council please contact:

FOOD SERVICE

We hope you are enjoying the Summer so far! We have enjoyed two of our four BBQ’s for the Summer. The attendance has been great. Our final BBQ of the season will feature spareribs with corn on the cob. This will be held on Friday September 13th. Please sign up early for this event to avoid disappointment, as this one tends to be our most popular. Remember there is a limit of two guests per resident to ensure as many residents as possible can participate. Hopefully the weather will be fabulous for this last summer event.

We hope everyone is enjoying the seasonal fresh fruit and vegetables available on the menu, especially the fresh fruit platters offered at afternoon teatime. They are a refreshing addition to the menu, so enjoy them while they are in season!
