ADMINISTRATION
On behalf of the Management and Staff, we would like to take this opportunity to extend to you and your families our Best Wishes for the Holiday Season and the New Year.
For the first time, Lynn Valley Care Centre will be participating in this year’s Parade of Trees which takes place in Lynn Valley Village (near the library.) If you are in the area make sure to check it out! Our tree will be decorated with ornaments made by our residents.
This is the 9th year that the Lynn Valley Community Association has put on the Parade of Trees which sees businesses, schools, and organizations transform the village into a winter wonderland of decorated trees.
As in previous years LVCC will be participation in Harvest Project Food Drive, which has been serving the North Shore since 1993. They provide client care/counselling, food and clothing. With your donations they have been able to serve over 350 clients every month. Of these 70% are families and 20% are seniors or people with physical disabilities. Last year their food store provided $764,000 of food to their clients. A box for contributions will be placed in reception.
Infection Control
Flu vaccines have now been given to most residents and staff. To protect our residents, we encourage all visitors to have the flu vaccine as well.
Please remember, if you have any cold or flu-like symptoms such as fever, sore throat, cough, runny nose, general malaise and/or muscle aches, do not visit. And, if you have gastro-intestinal symptoms such as nausea, vomiting, diarrhea, do not visit for 48 hours after your last symptom.
Please participate in our infection control program by making use of the many hand washing stations throughout the facility. Hand washing is our best protection. Wash your hands upon entering and exiting the building and more often as necessary.

FOOD SERVICE
December is here already! We will be kicking off the season with the first of five Family Night Christmas Parties! The first one will be held for the Lodge Residents, on Tuesday Dec. 3rd at 7 pm, in the Lodge Dining Room and will feature lots of homemade goodies and platters from our team of awesome cooks! There will also be special Christmas entertainment! More information about all the Manor Christmas Parties can be found in the Activities section of this newsletter.
We would like to extend an invitation to family members of our residents who would like to join us for our Christmas Celebration on the 25th with a traditional Turkey dinner served at the evening meal. Reservation books will be located at each Nursing Station from December 1st onward. Please let us know if you would like to join us by signing one of these books.
Unfortunately, we can only accommodate two guests per resident due to limited space in our dining rooms.
On behalf of all the staff in the Food Service Department, we would like to take this opportunity to wish everyone a Very Merry Christmas Season!
